Obituary for Rita R. Ciarcia (Conti)

Rita R. Ciarcia nee Conti entered into eternal rest from the comfort of her home on Monday, October 18, 2021. She was the loving daughter of Anthony and Grace Conti and sister of Claude Conti. Rita is predeceased by Daniel Anthony Ciarcia, her loving and devoted husband of nearly 55 years.

Rita is survived by her children Daniel A. Ciarcia (Ann Marie), Nancy G. Saladino (Paul) and Cynthia G. Medico (Thomas) in addition to her nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Rita was born on March 17, 1929 in the Bronx, New York. In 1947, she proudly graduated from James Monroe High School with the distinct honor of earning the Accounting Medal. Following this milestone, she entered the world of work at the Marine Midland Trust Company located on Maiden Lane in New York City.

During this time in her life, she also enjoyed socializing with her lifelong friends. Whether she was collecting autographs from famous singers and stars or simply taking long road trips along the east coast, Rita welcomed such opportunities.

On April 28, 1956, Rita wed Daniel A. Ciarcia, the love of her life, at St. Anthony’s Church located on Mansion Street in the Bronx. Fr. Tolentino officiated.

Throughout her life, Rita was an active member of St. Anthony’s Parish for 51 years and Annunciation Parish in Crestwood, New York for the past 41 years. Her devotion to her faith was ever so visible in the manner in which she unconditionally loved and cared for others.

Rita valued the gift of time spent with family and friends. She recognized the extraordinary in those ordinary moments. Let us forever keep Rita in our hearts as we continue to live her legacy of love.
