Richard DeVito of Coconut Creek, Florida passed away on April 28, 2021 at the age of 75. Richard was born to Felix and Gloria (Cerchia) DeVito on September 19, 1945 in the Bronx. He was a lifelong resident of Eastchester, New York. Richard was very proud of his service as an officer in the NYPD retiring in 1986 after 20 years of service. He was assigned to the Yankee Stadium detail from 1976-78. Some of his fondest memories were of the time spent with the Yankees making friends while gaining much respect. He also served in the National Guard. Richard arranged “Eastchester Day” for several years in Florida to gather all old friends from our hometown. He is predeceased by his father Felix, brother Edward and brother-in-law Gary. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marie (Medico) his beloved children Michael (Dorothy), Joanna and Elizabeth, his mother, Gloria, brother Felix, sisters Patricia Galloway (Robert), Gloria DelVecchio, sister-in-law Julie DeVito and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Westchester Funeral Home, Eastchester, NY on Sunday May 2nd from 2-6p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at Immaculate Conception Church, Winterhill Road, Tuckahoe, NY on Monday May 3rd, 2021 at 9:30am. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tunnel2towers.org,
