Obituary for Peter De Felice

Peter DeFelice - DOB 2/8/1920
Born in NYC to Michael and Isabel, Peter spent his childhood and most of his adult life in the Bronx.
He then became a longtime resident of Eastchester where he and his spouse, Margaret, lived for the last 40 years, first on Anpell Drive and then on Channing Place. Peter had 3 brothers and one sister who all pre-deceased him. His spouse, Margaret passed 2 years ago in January 2018. Peter was an accountant in Private Practice serving clients in the Bronx and Westchester Counties until he retired. He was active in his churches, first St. Roch’s Church in the Bronx and then Immaculate Heart of Mary in Scarsdale. He also attended Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Eastchester, for the last 10 years.
Peter and Margaret had 2 children, Patricia O’Connell who lives in Eastchester with her husband William, and Peter who pre deceased him in 1982. He is also survived by his 3 granchildren, Kathryn, William and Thomas as well as 3 great grandchildren, Hudson, Greyson and Daniel, along with numerous nephews, nieces, their children and grandchildren.
Peter was well known for his appearances at Town Board meetings where he tried to keep a friendly eye on town finances, as well as the “Joke Man” frequently found at Trader Joes on Saturday mornings passing out packet of jokes to anyone willing to stop for them. Channel 12 once did a feature on these activities. In 2015, Peter and Margaret were recognized by the Town of Eastchester as being the longest married couple in Town at 67 years. Before Margaret passed that grew to 70 years.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no visiting hours and the interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Animal Welfare League of Westchester County Inc., 54 Stratton Road, New Rochelle, NY 10804 in his name.
