Obituary for Patricia Ann Winkelmann (Miller)

On January 6, 2024, after a short illness, we said goodbye to our wonderful mother, Pat Winkelmann who enjoyed life in so many ways. Pat was 85 years old. She was born in Mount Vernon, New York on February 16, 1938, to Gus and Margaret Miller. She graduated from St. Gabriel’s High School in New Rochelle in 1956. Pat worked a few years at the New York Telephone Company. Later in life, she worked as a bookkeeper for Tri City Auto Parts.

On June 14, 1959, Pat married Fred Winkelmann at Sacred Heart Church in Mount Vernon. Together they had 3 children: Kathy (Bill) Murphy of Eastchester, New York, Patty (Bill) Clarkin of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Rick (Wanda) of Whitewater, Colorado.

Pat was an avid knitter, making pink and blue heart baby blankets for family and friends. She enjoyed playing Maj Jong and Rummikub, attending functions at Lake Isle Senior Center and sitting outside chatting with her neighbors for many hours. Pat was so lucky to have had many wonderful friends over the years. This brought her much joy.

Pat was the most kind-hearted, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. She will be missed dearly and will forever be in our hearts.

In addition to her three children, Pat is survived by her grandchildren Kimberly (Kevin) Del Mauro, Kaitlin Murphy (fiancé Joe Ricciardi) and Tommy Clarkin; 3 great grandchildren (Riley, Shane, and Hailey) Del Mauro; sister Peggy Benson; sister-in-law Rosemarie Stapf, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Fred and her sister Barbara Becker.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Eastchester EMS Volunteer Ambulance Corps (EVAC).
