Obituary for Michele Capolino (Leone Piliero)

Michele Marie Leone Piliero Capolino, passed away peacefully on November 15 th at home in Eastchester, N.Y. after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children, family and dearest friend Maria Dioguardi, who never left her side.

She is survived by her children, Vincent Piliero and Korynn Pecchioni (James). She was predeceased by her husbands, Neil Piliero and Thomas Capolino. Michele doted over her grandson, Andrew Pecchioni. She was the loving sister to Michael Leone (Charmane), Jeanne Longhitano, Sally Tripodi (Louis), Lynn Leone, and Mariann Leonelli , and cherished all of her nieces and nephews. She absolutely adored her step-grandchildren, Caitlin and Matthew Killeen, Christopher and Cameron Johnstone and Flora Capolino, as well as her step-children, Elena Killeen (Christopher), Dr. Thomas Capolino (Eva Herczegh) and Jennifer Liberti (Joseph).

Michele was born on March 13, 1954 in Bronxville, NY to parents Sebastian and Helen Leone. She grew up in Tuckahoe, NY, then later lived in Eastchester and Manhattan. While she loved the city life, she retired to Eastchester to spend time with her husband and family.

Michele had so many friends and was loved by all. She was and amazing woman who loved to help anyone who needed it. She had a love for horses and dogs, traveling, watching sports and spending time outdoors, especially in the company of her family and friends. She especially loved watching her grandson Andrew play football.

Her family would like to express sincere gratitude to Jansen Hospice and Palliative Care in Scarsdale NY for their attentive and professional care and compassion. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Jansen Hospice in memory of Michele.
