Obituary for Maxim Viscio

Maxim Viscio
Maxim James “Max” Viscio, 29, of Jersey City, NJ, died Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in a car accident. He is survived by his parents, P.J. Viscio and Grace Nunez, his sister, Carolina Viscio, and his partner, Tensae Andargachew. He was predeceased by his infant sister, Alexandra Claire Viscio.

Born in Bronxville, New York on November 7, 1991, Max was an Eastchester High School graduate and earned a B.A. in economics at the University of Chicago. In his youth, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. During the first years of his career Max worked as a financial journalist, including as Editor of Private Asset Management. At the time of his death, he was Content Manager for the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

Max was a kind young man who cherished his family and friends. He researched and maintained the family tree, constantly unearthing new information. In 2019 he traveled to Italy with his father and uncle to research family history onsite and had plans to do the same for his mother’s side in Mexico. He was an avid traveler who had journeyed extensively in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. He had been planning a road trip through the Australian Outback and was learning Welsh for yet another future trip. Always curious and eager to learn, he had encyclopedic knowledge in many subjects. He loved music and played several instruments. He was an adventurous gourmet, always looking to experience new and exotic cuisines.

Max is also survived by his grandmother, Marie Viscio, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Albert Viscio, and grandparents Maximo and Lucia Nunez.

Memorial services will be announced at a future date. For those who would like to be notified, please send contact information to maxvmemorial@gmail.com.
