Obituary for Mary Theresa Roffi

Mary Theresa Roffi, 75, of Crestwood passed away on December 21, 2018. She is survived by her husband Arthur Roffi, her adoring children Alison Roffi Pagett (Nathan) and Melissa Roffi Allison (Thomas), her cherished grandsons Henry and Drew Pagett, and her dear siblings Margaret (James) Allen, and William “Ernie” (Collette), Michael, Thomas (Bridie), Brendan (Doris), Joseph (Noreen), Vincent (Mary), and Patrick (Christine) Penny, and countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were considered family. She was born in County Mayo, Ireland, on October 27, 1943, to Mary and Joseph Penny. She immigrated to the United States when she was 16 years old. She worked and enjoyed years of fun before meeting her husband, adopting two daughters, and dedicating her life to providing for, educating, and loving them. A true entrepreneur and leader, Theresa launched a successful in-home family daycare center that thrived for over three decades under her hard work and commitment. She was fiercely dedicated to her children, family, friends, career, and faith. Amongst all of the traits that made her spectacular, her selflessness, generosity, and capacity to love were unparalleled. She loved to host and welcomed everyone with an open door, a drink, and a meal. She was a storyteller, a comedian, and a character. Theresa made an unforgettable impression on everyone who met her. She was a one and only. She will be remembered forever and lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. The family will receive friends at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. in Eastchester on Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. Mass will be held on Friday December 28, 2018 at 11:00 am at Annunciation Church in Crestwood.
