Mary Margaret (Peggy) Iamonico (Donovan), 97, a longtime resident of Tuckahoe died on September 10 peacefully in her beloved home. Peggy was born on April 9, 1923 to Michael and Mary (Walsh) Donovan in Mt. Vernon and attended local schools. Peggy was married on July 12, 1947 to the love of her life Robert T. Iamonico (“Capt. Bob”), who predeceased her in 2001. She was a longtime secretary for New York Life and Atlantic Mutual Insurance Companies. Mrs. Iamonico was a devoted mother and wife. She is also predeceased by her brother, Edward Donovan and daughter Susan Starbuck. She is survived by her sons Robert J. of Hartsdale and his wife Joanne M. and Joseph M. of Tuckahoe and his wife Sandy Jackson, and her son-in-law Robert Starbuck of Cambridge, MA. She was the doting grandmother of Katherine Starbuck-Bittker and her husband Joshua of Cambridge, MA, Kimberly Starbuck and her fiance Matt Orenstein of Cambridge, MA, Ryan Starbuck and his wife Franny of Denver, CO, Melissa Iamonico and her husband Diego Rendon of Hartsdale, NY, and Corey Iamonico of Bridgeport, CT. Peggy had 4 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Iamonico was so proud that her sons followed in her husband’s career in the Eastchester Fire Department. The family will receive friends at Westchester Funeral Home on Monday, September 14 from 4-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, September 15 at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Holy Mount Cemetery. The family welcomes donations to Feeding Westchester (feedingwestchester.org)
