It is with great sadness that the family of Mary J. DeMealo (Judy), announce her passing on Monday, September 27, 2021 after a brief and valiant battle with Cancer. She was 88, and a lifelong resident of Eastchester. Mary is the loving and devoted wife of her high school sweetheart of 67 years, the late Joseph DeMealo who passed away in August 2020. She is the adored mother of her four children- Judith DeMealo, Jane Nigro (Peter), Joseph DeMealo (Theresa) and Jill D’Agostino (Tony). She is the cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren - Michael, Peter Jr., Jacqueline, Patrick, Nicole, Daniella, Nicholas, and great-grandmother of three- Paige, Peter III and Evalynn. She is also survived by her sisters, Florence and Stella. Along with her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Stella (Felong) Salerno, and a sister Adele. Mary was a homemaker, a great cook who loved baking. She was an avid reader before blindness took her sight, after which she continued to read over 3,000 audio books. Mary always liked to engage in long conversations with her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing at celebrations with her husband, as they continue to dance happily together with the angels. Mary will be remembered for her big beautiful smile, unconditional love and devotion to her family. The family has requested that all services will be private.
