Marie Imperiale, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 at home with her family by her side on November 20, 2023.
She was born on October 18, 1931 to the late Vito and Giovanna (Cerreta) Cestone. She was a graduate of Albert Leonard High School in New Rochelle. On September 19, 1954 she married the love of her life Joseph Imperiale at St. Gabriel's Church. Marie worked as a Teacher Assistant in Special Education at many schools in New Rochelle and spent her last 10 years at Jefferson Elementary School until her retirement.
Marie is survived by her loving husband of 69 years Joseph V. Imperiale, her children, Joseph A. Imperiale (Diane), Sussanne Marino (Frank), Annmarie Scalzo (Joseph) and Anthony Imperiale (Kathy). She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Jason Imperiale, Steven Imperiale, Jessica Imperiale, Frank Marino, Robert Marino, Kelly Johnson, Thomas Oliverio, Laura Oliverio, Camryn Imperiale and Danielle Imperiale; Five Great-grandsons, Sebastian Marino, Leonardo Marino, Dominic Imperiale, Vincent Imperiale, and Oliver Johnson. Along with her parents she was predeceased by a brother Frank Cestone.
The Imperiale Family will receive friends at THE WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., EASTCHESTER. Friday November 24, 2023 3-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday November 25 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Scarsdale, at 10AM. Interment will take place at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, New Rochelle. In lieu of flowers friends who wish may contribute to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
