Obituary for Marguerite V. Fields (Velazquez)
Marguerite Velazquez Fields born June 7, 1935, in NYC passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2021, after a short hospital stay.
Marguerite was predeceased by Roy A. Fields, her husband of 69 years. Margie and Roy met at Fordham University and married in 1955. They were both teachers and raised their 8 children in Crestwood, NY.
Loving mother to Deborah (the late Butch), Joseph (Jonnell), Roy M. (Teri), Elizabeth (Kevin) Ferry, the late Regis (Julie), Stephen (Barbara), William (Donna), John (Eleanor), also Grandmother of 22, Great Grandmother of 8, and Great, Great Grandmother of one.
Marguerite was a teacher of the deaf for 38 years beginning her career at The New York School for the Deaf and later transferring to the NYC school system.
A mass for Marguerite will be held at Annunciation Church in Crestwood on Monday, September 20th at 10 am, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
