Obituary for Margaret C. Lettieri
Margaret (Peggy) Lettieri, a life-long Tuckahoe resident, passed away September 8, 2021. Peggy was born on May 31, 1925, to Anthony and Mary (Berardi) Yorizzo in Bronxville. She was baptized, confirmed and married at the Church of the Assumption, Tuckahoe, and continued to be a dedicated parishioner.
She was the loving wife of Anthony (Tony) Lettieri, of Brooklyn, until his passing in 2014. She was the loving mother of Lawrence (Marianne) Lettieri, Sara (Heinz) Gruettner and Elizabeth Lettieri (Kevin Kelly); cherished grandmother of Mark Lettieri (Shalyn) and Eric, and Michael (Anna) Gruettner; dearest great grandmother to Bennett, Elliott, Charles and Samantha Gruettner, and Isabella Lettieri.
Peggy was a member of the St. Ann Society at the Assumption Church. She was active in the Eastchester schools’ PTAs and was a dedicated Girl Scout leader.
For nearly 50 years, Peggy worked as a dental assistant for a popular dental practice in Eastchester.
A lover of art and music, she enjoyed the opera and ballet and was a long-time season ticket holder for the NY Metropolitan Opera and the American Ballet Theatre, where she and Tony enjoyed many Friday evenings. When not enjoying music or dance, she loved visiting the Cloisters.
Her favorite things were cooking for her family, especially lasagna, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Sunday, September 12, 2021, 3-7 pm.
