Lucy was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School and Mercy College. She had a successful career In the fashion industry and then decided many years ago to pursue her passion for children by working for families as a nanny. She spent many years with several families and maintained her relationship with the families long after the children out grew the need for her care.
She was very involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews and was very proud to have been godmother to Laurie and Annabelle and confirmation sponsor to Annabelle and Michael S. She loved attending recitals, concerts, plays and any other type of achievement they had.
One of her trademarks was that she did not give ordinary gifts for their birthdays, she gave experiences, just the birthday girl or boy and her spending time together doing a fun activity. These were memorable experiences that the kids speak of often. All of the nieces and nephews also looked forward every year to her annual gingerbread sleepover where they all spent cherished time with her.
As her mother aged, Lucy was increasingly involved in her care. She took this on with her usual enthusiasm. Visiting every day, shopping for her groceries, taking her to doctor’s appointments, monitoring her health, and famously keeping an eye on her on camera..
Although she left us too soon, her smile, warmth and love will continue to be felt by all those who knew her.
