Obituary for Joseph J. Luciano

Joseph (Coach) Luciano, 74 of Eastchester, NY passed away peacefully on November 7,2023 with his devoted wife, Barbara (Liucci) of 53 years, by his side. He was born on August 1, 1949 to the late John and Isabell (Granozio) Luciano. Loving Father of Joseph (Linda) and James (Kim). Grandfather of JJ and Rocco Luciano, Christina (Danny) Romanello, and recent great-grandfather of Gianna Romanello. Brother-in-law of Bill (Dolores), Andy (Susan), and the late Joseph Liucci. Uncle of Billy, Dorie, Lorna, Alex, Sofia and Joseph Liucci and Great-Uncle of Andrew and Calvin McCabe; also survived by many loving Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and friends.

Joe graduated from Eastchester High School in 1967. His pastime hobby of car racing was at Dover Racetrack with his 1968 Camaro and his 1956 Chevy. Joe retired from The Town of Eastchester after 35 years of loyal service.
Joe’s passion was coaching in The Town of Eastchester. He began as an umpire, then coached in the Pony League, launched T-Ball, coached for the Little League Owls Team, Eastchester Baseball, and the Eastchester Blue Devils. Joe finished his successful coaching career as the Eastchester Eagles Varsity football head coach, culminating with the Section 1 Championship in 1995. He was also an avid Jets fan.
He was proud to be a part of The Town of Eastchester community. His love and support for his family was immeasurable. He enjoyed his summers vacationing in Rhode Island with his family. He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Thursday, November 9, 2023, 3-8pm. Mass, Friday November 10, 2023 at 9:30 am at Assumption Church, Tuckahoe. Private cremation to follow so as per the family request, please in lieu of flowers make donations in Joe’s honor to either The Eastchester Eagle Sports Club
