Obituary for Jose N. Boyer MD
Dr. Jose N. Boyer, M.D. 86, of Tuckahoe died on June 29, 2020. Jose was born on February 15, 1934 to the late Jose Carmen Boyer and Rafaela (Delgado) Boyer in NYC, NY.
Jose is survived by his wife Rita, daughter; Janine (Joseph) Milo, sons; Joseph ( Marianne) Boyer and Jeff (Donna) Boyer, brothers; Alvin Boyer and William Verne, grandchildren; Kaila, Jose, Keith Boyer, Julia, Brianna, Emma Milo and Sydney and Jackson Boyer.
Jose is pre-deceased by his sister Carmen Estades. Jose Boyer lived life well. He was a husband, a wonderful father and grandfather, a brother, an uncle and a friend. His wrinkles, beautiful head of white hair, and aching back are a testament to a man who lived a truly adventurous life. He loved, he sweat, he danced and sang his way through it all. Watching old movies was one of his favorite things to do and to quote one, “Getting old ain’t bad, it’s earned” accurately describes the way he chose to live. Diving under the seas, riding horses over the trails, white water rafting, paragliding, and bungee jumping, his adventures knew no bounds. His passion for caring and helping others as a pediatrician, school doctor, and member of the community were equally limitless. He volunteered his time to clinics in the South Bronx, cleaned the trails for everyone to enjoy, planted trees along the Hutchinson River Parkway to improve the greenspace, and gave his time freely to anyone in need including animals. He opened his home to all the athletes and patients he treated without hesitation.
He saved countless lives and left an indelible mark on everyone he came into contact with. He truly made the world a better place for all who knew him, and many more who didn’t. He will forever be in our hearts and memories and his zest for life will live on through his children and grandchildren.
His selfless service to the community for over 40 years shall always be remembered.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER on Thursday - July 2nd from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday - July 3rd at 9:30 am. at Assumption Church, Tuckahoe. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
