Obituary for James T. Hunter III

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved James “Jimmy” Thomas Hunter III, 58 on October 11, 2021 after a lifelong battle with Hemophilia.
Jimmy was born in the Bronx, on May 29, 1963 to James Thomas and Catherine Hunter.

He graduated from Valley Stream High School and had a 30-year career at Metro North Railroad. He was a lover of alternative and classic rock, played the acoustic electric guitar, and was an avid New York Rangers and Mets fan. He was a very loving, kind and patient man who endured many obstacles in life which he always took in stride, embracing his Catholic faith to give him strength. He was a dedicated, fun loving father and husband.

He is predeceased by his daughter Meghan, father James, brothers Kenneth and Christopher. He leaves behind his loving wife MaryEllen, of 30 years, his daughters Elizabeth, Colleen and Kerry, his mother Catherine and sister Joanne Hunter (Timmy) Handel, Auntie Eileen Cronin along with many brother-in laws and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and cousins. Jimmy will be missed by all those who dearly loved him.

Visitation at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, Inc. 190 Main St. Eastchester will be held on Thursday, October 14th and Friday October 15th from 4pm – 8pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 16th at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 91 Secor Rd. Scarsdale, NY 10583
