Ida Edith McKeon (Romeo)
Ida was born in the Village of Tuckahoe on February 27, 1920 to James and Mary Romeo. She passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2020 at 100 years of age surrounded by her family who she loved and cared for so deeply.
Ida lived most of her life in the Tuckahoe/Eastchester area and owned her own business on White Plains Road by her mid-twenties. On January 4, 1953 she married William (Bill) Francis McKeon.
The heart of Ida was family. She was a guardian, friend and role model to her three children and grandchildren as well as a bevy of their friends, nieces and nephews, tirelessly balancing safety with outrageously fun filled trips to the swimming pools, movies, amusement parks and other outings.
She loved time with her friends, playing cards, following the Yankees, playing the slots at the casino and playing bingo. Ida was active with the Tuckahoe and Eastchester Seniors and AARP.
Ida is predeceased by her husband William and is survived by her daughter Kathy Doscher (Dwight), and twins Tom McKeon (LeThi) and Mary Demers; grandchildren, Jennifer Demers, William McKeon, Celeste McKeon, Dwight Doscher and Bryan Doscher (Melissa); and her great-grandson, James Dwight Demers. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Assumption, Tuckahoe on Saturday August 22, 2020 at 10:30 am.
