Obituary for Ida Carullo

Ida Concetta Carullo, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 8, 1946 to Luigi and Maria D’Angelo in Orsogna, Italy, where she met and married Luca Antonio Carullo in 1968. Then moved to the United States and went on to have two children.

Ida was known by many names - mother, sister, zia and the one she held closest to her heart, Nonni. Ida was devoted to her faith, visiting Saint Anthony of Padua’s Basicila on her frequent trips to Italy. Ida’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially on Sunday’s and Holidays when she prepared delicious extravagant feasts made with love.

Ida enjoyed her job on the sales floor of Lord and Taylor in Eastchester where she devoted her time to helping customers select their perfect outfit complete with accessories.

Ida was predeceased by her parents, Luigi and Maria D’Angelo, and sister Nicoletta D’Angelo. She is survived by her husband Luca Antonio Carullo, children Madeline and Philip, and four grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Amelia and Xander. She is also survived by her sister, Liliana Saetta and her husband Mario, and many nieces and nephews.

Ida was endless in what she contributed to enriching our lives. Each of us was fortunate to have been touched by her love, be it as a child, husband, relative, or friend. When you think of Ida, remember the love she gave to you. It was her gift to you. To all of us. You still have it. It’s become part of you, and you’ll have it forever. Enjoy that love whenever you need to. Pass it on to others as you share your memories about her wonderful life. She loved you.

Family and friends are invited to say a final goodbye to Ida; services will be held on Friday, July 14th from 4-8 pm at Westchester Funeral Home Inc. located on 190 Main Street Eastchester, NY. funeral mass will follow on Saturday, 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, located on 53 Winter Hill Road, Tuckahoe NY.
