Tom D'Antoni

I took trumpet lessons from Mitch for about a year in 2008 at the old Charles Colin studios in Manhattan.

Mitch was a no nonsense man with a gift to teach. Lessons were playing, and hearing facinating stories of his career, and living near, and knowing trumpet legend Rafael Mendez in Florida years ago.

Mitch was very generous by sharing his gift and time with me. Those were wonderful times, with a prince of a man that was one of a kind professional, and human being.

Heartfelt condolences to the Jellen family. Mitch was a wonderful soul. I was so lucky to study with him.
