Obituary for Gloria Menna

Gloria Menna passed peacefully in her home on February 18, 2021. Gloria was born to Kathryn and Eugene Orsenigo on June 23rd, 1926 in Mt. Vernon, NY. She was married on November 10th 1956 to her wonderful husband Alexander John Menna, who pre-deceased her in 2000. She was a graduate of A.B. Davis High School in Mt. Vernon and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Linden Hall Junior College. Gloria earned her Master''s Degree from Columbia University. An active athlete, Gloria played semi-professional basketball and baseball, as well as being a New York State backstroke swimming champion. In 1967 Gloria became active in tennis and served on the board of the Metropolitan Interclub Tennis League for many years.

She was active in local theater and Off-Broadway productions, and appeared on live TV commercials. She was also an understudy for Eleanor Holmes in The Aquacade. She was Vice President at Boyan and Weatherly Commercial Art Studio. Gloria''s extensive career as an interior designer included over a decade as a designer for Citibank. In her later years Gloria worked at Clarke Auction Gallery with her good friend Ron, in addition to running her own estate sale business.

Gloria is pre-deceased by her siblings Eugene Orsenigo Jr., Eddie Orsenigo and Kathryn Yannantuono. She is survived by her loving daughter, Marie Menna-Doescher of New Rochelle and John Menna from Brookfield Connecticut. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Joseph Menna, Tara Foisset and Francesca Demers, son-in-law Doug Doescher, daughter-in-law Dale Menna as well as her many loving family members including great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Gloria lived a full, extraordinary life and will be remembered for her beautiful smile, outgoing personality and her love for her family and friends. Gloria was gregarious, outgoing and giving. She loved a good celebration, so we now celebrate her life and all the lives she touched. Donations in her memory can be made to Calvary Hospice and The Alzheimer''s Association.

The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Sunday, February 21, 2021, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass, Monday February 22, 2021 at 9:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe with burial following at Kensico Cemetery.
