Obituary for Frances C. Cohen

Frances (nee Ciampanelli) Cohen, 91, of Eastchester, NY, passed away on October 23rd surrounded by her loving family. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her husband and children. She was affectionately known as "Fran" to family and friends.
Fran was born in New Rochelle, NY on January 25, 1931.  Her parents had immigrated from Italy to America and settled in Scarsdale, NY where she eventually graduated from Eastchester High School. She met her beloved husband, Nathaniel, while working for the NY Telephone Company.  They married on June 4, 1960.  Fran and Nat eventually settled in Eastchester, NY.
Fran was the cherished wife of Nathaniel for 61 years.  Loving mother to Corrine McElderry and her husband, Thomas, of Tappan, NY, and Doreen Paradiso and her husband, Robert, of Carmel, NY.  Devoted “Nana” to her grandchildren, Caitlin Reilly and her husband, Thomas, Bailey, Shannon, Robert, and Alexandra.  Dear sister to her late brother, Michael Ciampanelli and his wife, Genevieve, sister to Nicholas Ciampanelli and his wife, Marie, and to Louise Ciampanelli.  Loving sister-in-law to her late brother-in-law, Stanley, and his wife, Irene. Fran recently became the proud great-grandmother of Liam.
Fran was a generous and kind person and well loved by many. She enjoyed crocheting, listening to country music, dancing and watching her favorite TV show, Jeopardy.   She enjoyed family gatherings and making homemade Italian food. She was a great cook! She liked to make chocolates for special family events and most of all enjoyed going to her favorite restaurant, Roma, in Tuckahoe. She loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren participate in sports and dance recitals.  Fran leaves behind many people who loved her and will miss her for her devotion to family and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main St., Eastchester, on Friday, November 11, from 4:00pm-8:00pm.

At this time, the family asks that donations be made in Fran’s memory, in lieu of flowers, to the Alzheimer's Association https://www.alz.org/?form=alz_donate
