Phillis, your mom was certainly a force of nature with a voice to match. When I was young I passed your house every day on the way to and from Waverly School and saw (and heard) her often. Then she opened Fay's deli when you and I were in junior high, and it was a magnet for all of us through high school and beyond, providing sustenance for body and soul from someone who really cared. My condolences to you and the rest of the Commisa clan.

Phillis, Tony and Family,
I am saddened by the passing of Fay. Her kindness and influence on me and many of my friends help keep us the right path in life, even though we did not know it at the time. I remember her fondly.
She fed us food for our adolescent appetite and a sense of right from wrong for our developing morality. I, as well as my close friends, felt she adopted us. Phillis and Tony, I offer my sincerest condolences and the hope the hole in your heart you feel by Fay's passing is filled with the wonderful spirt and memories she leaves behind,
Sandy Tambone

Fay brings back so many wonderful memories. She wasn't just a deli owner. She was like everyone's second mother. When you did something wrong, Fay let you know. If you went to Fay's deli and you were short money, Fay made sure that you still got a hero. Fay grew up with my Dad and often shared memories with me about their youth. Her daughter Phyllis love playing softball with us, and once got hit in the forehead with a lose bat requiring stiches. Son Tony and Dad Tony were great guys, just a wonderful family. All my best wishes, Fred Mariani
