Obituary for Esther Gertrude Stanziale
Esther Stanziale, 103, died at the Wartburg Home on April 1, 2020.
A private graveside service will be held.
Esther was born in Wuppertal, Germany on December 6, 1916 to Emma and Richard von Scheven. She emigrated to the United States with her parents in 1926 where they settled in Queens and Brooklyn.
Esther came to New Rochelle in the 1930’s where she met her husband Ralph Stanziale. After Ralph served in the Army in WWII they married in 1946 and raised their family in New Rochelle.
Esther was a caring homemaker however she worked part time for Sears and Jelenko Industries. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church for many years where she proudly sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. Later she became a member of the Christ Methodist Church in New Rochelle. It was her unrelenting faith that carried her through tough times in her life until her death.
Esther was also a member of the Echo Bay Yacht Club where she enjoyed bringing her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph. She is survived by her daughter Anita, son Robert, daughters-in-law Debbie and Elayne, her grandchildren Eric (wife Janice) Lauren and Lee and Sister-in-law Frances Spallone.
