Ernest (Ernie) L. DeSantolo, 100, died on July 29, 2022. He was born and raised in Mount Vernon, NY. Ernest served proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII. On April 24, 1949 he married Margaret Rose Ciani. Together they resided in Tuckahoe for more than 60 years. He was employed by the Mount Vernon Board of Education for the last 15 years of his employment. Previously, he worked for Metropolitan Petroleum Company for over 30 years.
Ernest was a very popular and gregarious man. He was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Ernest cherished his family and friends.
He is predeceased by his wife Margaret, and survived by his daughter Rosemary and her husband Frank, his son Peter and his wife Joan, devoted grandfather to Patrick (Sarah), Sean, and Margaret (Brian) and 4 great grandchildren, Brennan (The kid), Rosemary, Fiona and Maverick.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Wednesday, August 3, 2022, 4 - 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday August 4, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Holy Mount Cemetery.
