Obituary for Erik Hartmann

Erik Manfred Hartmann died December 4, 2020 of heart failure.
He was born February 16, 1966 to Ingrid and Manfred Hartmann in White Plains N.Y.
Erik graduated from White Plains High School in 1984 and attended BOCES ,where he received his technical training in heating and air-conditioning maintenance. He was a loyal and trusted employee at AMHAC in Eastchester for over 30 years.
Erik is survived by his mother Ingrid Hartmann of White Plains, New York, his sister Regina Malley (Kingston) of Columbus Ohio, aunts Astrid Rogers of White Plains NY and Ingeborg Ybarra of Tempe Arizona, sister in law Louise Hartmann of Goldensbridge, New York, cousins Daniel Rogers and Bonnie Rogers Vendola of White Plains, nephew Jason Mauer of Milan, Michigan and Rachel Mauer of Powell, Ohio.
Erik is preceded in death by his father Manfred Hartmann (2016), brother Roy Hartmann (2018), uncle Robert Rogers and cousin Audrey Rogers.
Erik grew up in an extended family with his parents, siblings, aunt and uncle and cousins. He had a special bond with his nephew Jason and niece Rachel.
Erik was a connoisseur of the best hole in the wall and street food eateries.
Since his initial heart attack in June, Erik lived with his mother. They had become wonderful companions going on daily outings and preparing meals together.
Erik was our gentle giant with a big heart, unfortunately his heart was not strong enough to sustain him. We will miss his fun sense of humor and easy going demeanor.
He will have a special place in our hearts forever.
Because of Covid-19 restrictions, his family will wait to have a celebration of his life. Until then have beer and toast his memory.
Erik was a tissue donor and his gifts have the potential of helping 180 people including the gift of sight.
If you wish, contributions in Erik’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association or a local food pantry.
