Eileen C. Schmidt of Coconut Creek, FL and formerly of Eastchester, NY passed away on August 17, 2019, in Florida. She was 88 years old. Eileen was born at home in Tuckahoe, on August 6, 1931, the third child of George and Hanna Cummins. She was raised and educated in Yonkers, graduating for Gorton HS in 1949. She married Howard Jay Schmidt on April 12, 1958 and they settled in Eastchester shortly after, where they raised three daughters. Eileen was active in the Tuckahoe Schools and was a member of the Board Of Education for many years. She was a successful salesperson for EG Cooper Real Estate in Eastchester and she was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe. She enjoyed golf, tennis, and lunches on the patio at Lake Isle. Eileen moved to Florida in 2000 where she continued to enjoy golf and later bingo. A cancer survivor, she organized Rally for the Cure at Wynmoor and raised tens of thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society. Eileen was predeceased by her brother George, her parents, and her husband Jay (September 12,1988). She is survived by her sister Isabelle C. Cummins of Bronxville, NY, and her three daughters and their families: Barbara Schmidt Mora of White Plains, NY, Denise Ray of Cummings, GA, Joan Schmidt Trehy of Inverness, FL.
