Obituary for Eileen M Antonison

It is with great sadness that the family of Eileen Antonison announces her passing on Friday, May 31, 2019, at the age of 37. Eileen will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend, Brent Baier, parents, Mary and Edward Antonison, brother, Richard Antonison, sister-in-law, Lauren Antonison, niece, Evelyn Antonison, sister, Allison Antonison, brother-in-law, Thomas Bernhard, mother- and father-in-law, Dorothy and Bruce Baier, sister-in-law, Dana Baier, and niece, Brooke Baier. Eileen will also be remembered by her cousins, extended family and dear friends.

In 2003, Eileen graduated from Manhattan College with a bachelor’s degree in education, and later graduated from Columbia University with a master’s degree in education. She began her teaching career at Hammarskijold Middle School in East Brunswick, New Jersey, and for the majority of her career, taught at Franklin Avenue Middle School (“FAMS”), in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. In 2015, Eileen was one of five state finalists from NJ for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Most recently, Eileen loved working with the staff at Mosa Mack Science developing curriculum, and at Eduscape.

Eileen continued sharing her love and passion for science by working with young students in STEM at the Wyckoff Family YMCA, and as a coding and robotics instructor at summer camps.

Beside her passion for science, Eileen found joy in coaching cheerleading at FAMS and Manhattan College for several years. Eileen loved traveling with her husband, and occasionally her sister, experiencing different cultures, and learning French, Spanish, Italian, and Gaelic. Her positivity, love of life, and laugh will be missed everyday.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 8, at 11:00 a.m., at the Chapel of De La Salle and His Brothers at Manhattan College, 4513 Manhattan College Parkway, Riverdale, New York.

Memorial donations may be made to the Eileen Antonison Memorial Scholarship Fund, 213 Westwood Court, West Deptford, New Jersey 08096.

Alex, Lanie and the Eduscape team

Eileen's everlasting smile and cheerful optimism will be greatly missed. She was a remarkable person that left an indelible mark on everyone she came in contact with. Eileen worked with us for a short time but we all have so many incredible memories of our time together.

Derik Thompson

Even though I only worked a few weeks with Eileen, she was one of the sweetest and kindest people I’ve ever met. That seems to be the kind of impact she left on anyone who knew her. She was the first to welcome me here and always seemed to be glowing with joy, despite her troubles. Cancer might have taken her too soon but heaven just got the sweetest, kindest, bubbliest angel ever!
