Obituary for Edward Plummer

Edward Plummer, 85, of Mount Vernon died on Sunday, June 5, following a long illness. Ed was born in Fair Lawn, NJ, son of John F. and Margaret Plummer. He graduated from Fair Lawn High School and attended Fairleigh Dickinson College (now University). He also served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator. Ed was a senior inspector for the Westchester County Department of Weights and Measures. In his free time, he had many interests and activities. He was a long-time member of the Mogul Meister Ski and Snowboard Club in Elmsford, holding several board positions, including president. Though he came to skiing relatively late, he quickly made up for lost time, skiing in several U.S. states, Canada, Italy, France, and New Zealand. A lover of all sports, he officiated both softball and volleyball and held season tickets for the New York Red Bulls soccer team. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Robert and John. He is survived by his son, Christopher, of Yonkers, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
