Dolores Getzelman, 92, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2020. She was born July 13, 1928 in College Point, NY to Mary and Ralph Marano. She grew up with her family in College Point where she met the love of her life, Bob, when she was 16. Bob and his “Jazzy” as he loved to call her, wed on October 9, 1949 and had two kids, Louis and Bob.
Dolores had an incredible love for her family, fun and the game of golf, which led her and Bob to move to South Florida in 1985. They shared these loves together and made many great memories. Always the life of the party, she could frequently be found laughing till she cried. She was an amazing and caring daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all of those who knew her.
Dolores is survived by her sister Lucille, two children Bobby (Daughter-in-law Maria) and Louis (Daughter-in-law Diane), grandchildren Robert, Louis (wife Allison), and Nicole (husband Mark), as well as her great grandchildren Azalea and Dylan. Her extended family Chris, Nancy, Sarah and Julia also survive Grandma Dolores. She was loved as “Aunt Sissy” to her nephews, grand-nephews and grand-nieces in South Florida. She is predeceased by her parents Ralph and Mary, her husband Bob, her sisters Louise and Dolly, and her brother Louis.
While Dolores will be dearly missed, she would want everyone to know that she was prepared to meet her Lord and Savior. She had reminded her family before passing what a blessing life is and what a blessed life she had lived.
