Obituary for Dolores Rose DiRienzo (DiRienzo)

Dolores Rose DiRienzo, longtime resident of Tuckahoe, NY, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, March 16th at her home in Hillsboro Beach, Florida, surrounded by loving family. She leaves behind a network of family and friends who mourn her loss while celebrating the gift of her life, including her brother Anthony Charles and sister-in-law Lauren, niece Alyssa Colaluca Sanzari, and nephews Charles and Sam DiRienzo.
Dolores was born September 11, 1940 to Lt. Colonel Sam and Rose DiRienzo (nee Pittore). Because Rose died shortly after Dolores was born, and Sam was in the Army, Dolores spent her formative years with her adoring Grandparents and Aunt Fanny in the family home at 48 Circuit Avenue.
Dolores attended the Immaculate Conception School in Tuckahoe and St. Clare’s Academy in Hastings, where she was known for her sparkling smile, quick wit and basketball acumen. A lifelong parishioner of the Church of the Assumption, she was a charter member of the Circuit Avenue Gang....many of whom still gather regularly to celebrate their friendship.
Ever devoted to her cherished extended family, Dolores worked for many years as administrator of the DiRienzo Brothers Stone Quarry, and prior to that, as manager at Waverly Lanes, the family’s bowling alley in Eastchester.
Visitation at Westchester Funeral Home, Friday, April 5, 2019 from 4pm to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial at Assumption Church at 9:30am, and interment at Holy Sepulchre, New Rochelle immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcome to the Church of the Assumption or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
