Obituary for Diane Carol "Dedee" Pizzarello (Ostlund)

Diane (Ostlund) Pizzarello, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend passed away after a hard-fought battle with an aggressive cancer, surrounded by her loving family on October 5, 2022, at the age of 64.

Diane was born in Mt. Vernon NY in November 1957. After graduating from Tuckahoe High School in 1975, she went on to Westchester Community College earning an associate degree. She later took nursing courses at St. Catharine’s College, which included a summer course at Cambridge University. She worked at Young & Rubicam Group in NYC for many years and later worked for Yedei Chesed, Inc. providing much needed home care for the elderly and disabled.

She married the love of her life Richard Pizzarello in 1995. Diane (‘Dedee’ to her family and many friends), had a joy and love for life that was infectious. She enjoyed acting, dancing, and singing at the local community theatre - and took frequent trips to visit and spend time with her son Patrick in Florida. She spent her last year traveling the seas with family and friends in between chemotherapy sessions. Hers was a life well lived, a shining example of the magnificence of the human spirit. She was loved and will be missed.

Dedee was preceded in death and into her final resting place by her beloved father Arthur Ostlund. She is survived by her loving family, including her husband Richard, her son Patrick (Kait) Baginski, her mother Jean Ostlund, her brother Clifford (Robin) Ostlund, sisters Kathleen (Robert) Pizzarello, Barbara Arnold, Marjorie (Kenneth) Harrington, nephews Adam (Saya) Hayes, and Eric Ostlund, stepdaughters Lea and Lauren Pizzarello, and cherished grandchildren Leanna and Tatiana Santiful.
