Obituary for Clarence L Cameron

Clarence Linford Cameron was born in Newmarket, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies on August 22,1938, to Marian Daley and Arthur Cameron. After completing his early years of schooling and graduating with a high school diploma, Clarence joined the Jamaican Military Service. His soft spoken yet determined nature allowed him to excel in his army career as he was promoted to the role of military service instructor at the training academy from 1967-1968. In the early 1970s, Clarence emigrated to the United States, settled in Queens, New York, and transitioned to a career in the banking industry. During this time, he met Patricia whom he married in 1985. With her encouragement and support, Clarence pursued a new and exciting career in the food industry. From 1991 until his retirement, he served as a chef and staff trainer for Planet Hollywood restaurants. Clarence found his true calling traveling to Europe, Asia, and various US cities, training new staff and cooking exotic dishes. Following retirement, Clarence continued to pursue his passion for gardening, travel, and baking. He was an active and dedicated member of the garden club at the Bay Eden Older Adult Center; his carefully nurtured lilies, cleomes, and dahlias served as a beautiful addition to the center’s garden. Clarence embarked on many thrilling and fun-filled Royal Caribbean cruises with Patricia and family. Rome, Oslo, St. Petersburg, Santorini, and Curacao are just some of the wonderful ports visited during their travels. In retirement, he baked delicious cheesecakes and puddings for all to enjoy on holidays and special occasions; in addition to making culinary delights, Clarence was known for a fun-loving nature, dancing to lively music, and capturing events on film. Over the last few years, his health declined resulting in his transfer from the hospital to The New Jewish Home - Sarah Neuman for the continuation of his care. On October 15, 2022, Clarence peacefully transitioned from this life to eternal rest. He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife Patricia; his siblings Joyce, Cynthia, Monica, Norma, Calbert, Yvonne (deceased), Ansel, Neville (deceased), Delroy, and Keith; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
We love you, Clarence. Your memory will live on through us and may the good Lord grant you peace.
