Obituary for Charles L Broder

Our beloved Father has left us suddenly and peacefully with his granddaughter holding his hand. He was 89.
Born and raised in New Rochelle, Charlie attended Blessed Sacrament and onto Iona college. There he obtained an education in Engineering and achieved a successful career as a surveyor/ engineer for City of New Rochelle. He had also enlisted in U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Sproston, a naval destroyer during the Korean Conflict. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. He was the last surviving of 7 children to Thomas J and Loretta Maxcy Broder of New Rochelle.
Predeceased by his eldest son, Kenneth J Broder, and his beloved wife, Eva C Broder. Survived by his remaining children: Connie (andDavid) McLellan, Cynthia Paquette, Charles L (andPamela) Broder, of MA, Charlotte (and Eric) Honcharenko of TN, Toni (and Craig )Boelsen, Donna (and Peter) Nekiforos; 12 grandchildren: Victoria (and Shane) Gregg , David (and Jessika) Broder of OK, David M (and Justine) Dyke of Charlotte, NC, Daniel R (and Jackie) McLellan, Drew B McLellan, Jenny W Broder, Abby R Broder, Kelly J Broder of MA, Marina and Annie Sourbis and Samantha and Christopher Boelsen; 9 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 190 Main St, Eastchester, NY 10709, Sunday, March 6, 2 to 6 p.m. Funeral Mass, Monday, March 7, 10. a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 5 Strathmore Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583.
