Obituary for Anne Browne (Carroll)

Anne Browne (Carroll)
Yonkers - Anne Browne of Crestwood, 89, passed away August 16, 2019 surrounded by loving family. Annie was born March 22, 1930 and was one of nine children born to William and Annie Carroll in Co. Offaly, Ireland. She emigrated to New York in 1950. While a nanny in Bronxville she met her husband John F. “Jack” Browne. They married September 25, 1954. Together, they had six children - Robert (Patti), Carol, Kevin (Patty), Eileen, Thomas (Heather) and Michael. Anne was preceded in death by her husband Jack, son Kevin and daughter Eileen. The great joy in her life was her family, especially her seven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. All of whom had their moment as her "favorite". Annie enjoyed the simple things in life. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing board games with her family and loved a good cup of hot tea. Traveling was in her spirit. Besides many trips "home" to Ireland to visit family there and in England, she often fondly recalled her trips to Alaska, Hawaii and several destinations in Europe. But she was always happiest to return to family, friends and neighbors in her Crestwood home, where laughter always lived, and the door was always open. She was a longtime parishioner of Annunciation Church and a member of the Eastchester Irish American Club. Anne loved to attend the dances and rarely left the dance floor. We will celebrate her life at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Monday, August 19, 2019, 4-8pm. Mass, Tuesday August 20, 2019 at 11:00 am at Annunciation Church, Crestwood. Interment to follow at Holy Mount Cemetery. Friends who wish may contribute to the American Cancer Society, www.donate3.cancer.org To sign our online guestbook visit www.westchesterfuneralhome.com
