Obituary for Anna Oswald (Viola)
Anna V. Oswald, 89, of Indian Trail, NC passed away on October 12, 2023.
Anna was born on January 31, 1934 to Vincenzo and Antonetta Viola in Tuckahoe, NY. In 1954, Anna married the love of her life, Robert Oswald, Sr. They celebrated 63 years of marriage before Robert passed away – taking a big piece of Anna’s heart with him. When Anna was first married, she worked as a secretary at an insurance company. After raising her three children, Anna went back to work as a waitress at a bowling center. She was a dynamo, taking care of the bowlers in all 36 lanes, never missing a beat. She loved to work, meeting friends from all walks of life who considered her a friend for life.
Anna is survived by her three children: Robert Oswald, Jr; Jody Brower (John); Annette DiBona (Anthony). She is also survived by her grandchildren Melissa Soley (Paul); Robert Brower (Jackie); Anna Oswald; Robert Oswald, III (Safira); Kristen Jantzen (James); Joseph DiBona. Anna’s greatest joys were her great-grandchildren: Alana Oswald; Penelope Soley; Dominic Soley; Mikayla Jantzen; Olivia Jantzen; Greyson Brower. Anna is also survived by her sister, Nicolina and brother, William Viola (Mary). Last but definitely not least, Anna will also be missed by her loyal and constant companion her incorrigible Yorkie Daisy.
In addition to her loving husband, Anna was predeceased by her siblings: Jerry, Rosie, Nancy and Isabel; her daughter-in-law Cynthia Oswald; and her two grandsons: John Brower, Jr. and Nicholas DiBona.
Anna was an amazing cook & baker – she loved to feed everyone who came by! She crocheted beautiful afghans and loved to give them as gifts to family and friends.
To know Anna, was to love her. So many will miss Anna and her loving ways.
