Obituary for Ann Blum (Hunter)

Ann (Hunter) Blum, born on August 11, 1928, passed away on May 9, 2020.

A lifelong Eastchester, NY resident, “Sis” as her family referred to her, was the beloved wife of the late Donald Blum. She is survived by her son Kenny (Patti) Blum, granddaughters Elizabeth Malaterre and Molly Roll, and brother Jim Hunter. Sis was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Bill Hunter, Jr., Jack Hunter, Don Hunter, Peggy Reid, Bob Hunter, and Mary McGovern.

Sis worked for the Eastchester School System for over 30 years. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church and volunteered her time throughout her life. She taught CCD on Wednesday afternoons and always enjoyed working with the IC Players. Her favorite hobbies were swing dancing with Donald and spoiling her two granddaughters. Up through her 80’s, she could still be found walking the track of her alma mater, Eastchester High School.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, family and friends will celebrate Sis’ life at a later date. Interment will be at a private ceremony at Holy Mount Cemetery on Friday, May 15. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Fund for Salesian, 148 E. Main Street, New Rochelle, NY 10801, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2900 Westchester Ave., Purchase, NY, 10577.
