Obituary for Alphonse Arthur Cobuzzi

Alphonse A. Cobuzzi of Tuckahoe passed away peacefully on November 3, 2018 after a long battle with Cancer. He was 91 years old, born on November 6, 1926 in Tuckahoe to Rose and Luigi Cobuzzi. Alphonse is survived by his wife of 67 years Nazarina (Rene) Cobuzzi and his seven children Louis (Agnes), Gene (Linda), Joann (Mariano), Michael (Christine), Paula, John (Gen), Karen (Terry), his cousin Claudette D’Arco, his 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is survived also by his brother Richard and Sister-in-law Marie. Alphonse is predeceased by his siblings Marie, Dominick, and John.Alphonse attended Main Street School and Tuckahoe High School, before attending Columbia University. He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country from 1944-1947 in the Pacific theatre. Upon his return he started his life with Nazarina in Tuckahoe, and he went to work at New York Central Railroad for 9 years. He then went to work at Haines Lundberg and Whaler as a Project Architect for 47 years.Alphonse was an avid sports fan and hated to miss a game. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his wife and family, whether they were vacationing, playing ball in the yard, heading to church on Sundays, or having nightly family dinners. He devoted his life to providing for his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will all miss him deeply.The family will receive friends at the Westchester Funeral Home 190 Main Street Eastchester, NY November 8, 2018 from 3:00-8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial Friday November 9, 2018 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe, NY. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains, NY. The family wants to express how greatly appreciative they are for the extraordinary care provided by the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne and staff of Rosary Hill Home.
