Obituary for Almerinda (Linda) Palancia

Almerinda (Linda) Forcello Palancia nee Mazzucco age 89, of Eastchester, NY passed away peacefully at Calvary Hospital on April 12, 2023. Linda was born in Minturno, Italy on May 24, 1933 to Rosa and Pasquale Mazzucco. As a young girl, she immigrated to America with her sisters and her parents. Linda was raised on Hoffman Street in the Bronx, NY where she resided until her marriage to the late William Forcello of Tuckahoe, NY. They moved to Eastchester, NY where they raised their four children.
Linda was a devout Catholic who found great comfort in her faith. While raising her family she became a bookkeeper for Tuckahoe Urban Renewal. She then went on to work for the Greenburg Housing Authority as a bookkeeper and office manager. While there, she was promoted to the position of Executive Director where she stayed until her retirement. Linda was an avid reader who also found pleasure in writing. She was passionate about food and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Linda will be remembered for her many delicious meals most especially her ravioli and rice balls!
Linda is predeceased by her parents, her two sisters, Mary and Gemma, her husband Joseph Palancia and many friends.
Linda is survived by her sister Lena DeLayo, her children Dominick (Marybeth) Forcello, Rosanne (Joseph) Cirasella, Patrick (Denise) Forcello and Linda Forcello. Grandma Linda will be dearly missed by her Grandchildren, Cassandra (Sean) Waldron, Steven (Nina) Forcello, David (Cathryn) Forcello, Joseph (Danielle) Cirasella, Justin Cirasella, Nicholas (Lauren) Forcello and William (Alexandra) Forcello. She will also be missed by her nine great grandchildren, her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive guests at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. Eastchester on Friday April 14 from 5-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe on Saturday April 15 at 10:30 am.
