Obituary for Albert A. Accatino, Sr.
Albert Accatino Sr., husband of Doris Accatino, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023 at his home in Gilbert, Arizona at the age of 92. He was born in New York City on June 12, 1931, to Albert and Alice Accatino. His father Albert immigrated from Fubine, Italy and his mother was born in NYC whose parents immigrated from Biella, Italy.
He met his wife Doris (Zito) on a blind date in the Bronx in 1950 and they married in 1954 after he completed his military service in the United States Marine Corp in Korea from 1951-1953. They remained married for 69 years until his death.
He was a strong family man, a life-long IBEW Local 3 electrician, and enjoyed cruises and traveling to Italy. He was also a surrogate father, uncle and grandfather to many of those around him.
He is survived by his wife Doris, his 3 children, Albert Jr. (wife Donna) of Eastchester, NY, Scott (wife Amanda) of Tempe, AZ and Perry of New Port Richey, FL; his 7 grandchildren Daniel, Jeffrey, Douglas, Caroline, Alexander, Suzanne and Aidan, and his 2 great grand-daughters Elise and Mylee.
