Obituary for Marie C. Lambert (Carrera)

Mrs. Marie Carrera Lambert passed away peacefully in her home in Eastchester, NY on Monday January 15. She was born on 6/3/1930 in Manhattan to Rosario and Manuel Carrera. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 27 years, Andrew Lambert. She received her BA and MA from Hunter College. She was a teacher at Eastchester High School for 36 years, 8 of those as acting Dean. She retired from EHS and became adjunct professor in the Modern language department at Iona College. She was a member of the Westchester Power Squadron and served a term as commander. She served as a docent at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for 13 years. Marie's passing is a loss for all who knew her. She was widely loved. She was a woman who kindly embraced all she knew and took them into her life like family. She was full of life and had unlimited energy and interests. She loved knowledge, learning and imparting, always a teacher. She will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at THE WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 190 Main St, Eastchester, NY, Friday, January 19, 2-4pm and 6:30-8:30 pm. Funeral Mass Saturday, January 20, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 8 Carman Road, Scarsdale, NY, 10 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Calvary Hospice or Memorial Sloane Kettering Hospital in her memory.
