Obituary for Joseph J. Grumblatt Sr.

Joseph J. Grumblatt Sr.
Joseph J. Grumblatt Sr., a longtime resident of Eastchester, passed away on Sunday August 6, 2017 at the age of 93. He was born in Erie, PA on January 30, 1924 to the late John C. and Anna (Pildner) Grumblatt. Joseph was a graduate of Penn State University and served his country in the U.S. Army with honor. He was a systems engineer with GTE for many years until his retirement. Joseph is survived by his children, Mary Murphy, Patricia Pelle (John), Catherine Lawless, and Joseph J. Grumbaltt Jr. (Dianne). He is also survived by seven grandchildren. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his wife Louise Grumblatt in 1988 and he was predeceased by 6 brothers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 9, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. Eastchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday August 10, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Rosary Hill Nursing Home 600 Linda Ave. Hawthorne, NY 10532 or Covenant House 460 W. 41st Street NY, NY 10036.
