Obituary for Gene A. DeSimone

Gene A. DeSimone died peacefully at his home in Hartsdale NY, on June 24, 2017. He was ninety-six years old.
Born in Abruzzi, Italy, and raised in Tuckahoe, NY, Gene graduated from S.U.N.Y. Maritime College at Fort Schuyler. He then served as an Engineering Officer aboard the U.S.S. Windsor in the Pacific during World War II. He retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant and was awarded a Bronze Star for his military achievements.
Following the war, Gene worked as nationwide general construction supervisor for Tishman Realty and Construction Company. Notably he was in charge of the construction of 666 Fifth Ave. He later became Executive Vice President and Principal of Cooper Construction Corp. of New York City. In 1962, Gene founded Windsor Concrete Corp. and participated in the construction of many prestigious buildings in New York City.
Gene was an avid golfer and long time member of Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich, CT.
Gene is survived by his sister, Emily, his daughter, Deborah Bisordi (William) of Larchmont, N.Y., three loving grandchildren; Michael Bisordi, Lauren Lepore (Don), and Amanda Bisordi; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of fifty-seven years, Mary Ann (Kalinoski) DeSimone, his daughter, Constance, his brothers, Paul and Frank, and his sisters Quinta Indiviglia, Mary Berardi and Vivian Depole.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday June 27th from 4PM to 8PM at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. Eastchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday June 28th at 9:30 AM at the Assumption Church in Tuckahoe. To sign our online register book visit westchesterfuneralhome.com.
