Obituary for Carl E. Harmon

Carl E. Harmon
It is with great sadness that the family of Carl Edward Harmon announces his passing after a long illness on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the age of 59.
Carl will be forever missed and remembered by his wife of 34 years, Vita, his two daughters, Marina and Elena (Christopher) and his grandson, Dimitri. He is also survived by his mother Eleanor Harmon, his two siblings, Raymond (Rosemary) Harmon and Kathleen (Paul) Albertson. Carl will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Carl was born on November 11, 1957 to Raymond and Eleanor Harmon, in Queens, New York. He received his education in Queens and began his career at TIME magazine in 1975 as a mail clerk and finished his career there as Finance Editor. Later in life, he worked for Federated Corporation as a Sales Manager. He married Vita Tota, of Mt. Vernon, NY, in 1983, and they welcomed two daughters into their life, Marina Michelle in 1984 and Elena Marie in 1988.
Carl’s love was first and foremost creating traditions with his family. Together, they spent many summer vacations in Narragansett, Rhode Island enjoying the beach, jumping the waves, and exploring historical landmarks. He was an avid fisherman and bowler in addition to being a dedicated New York sports fan. We will forever remember the joy he brought to others through his humor. He had a lighthearted way of uplifting those around him. He will live forever in our hearts.
The family will receive friends at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. in Eastchester, NY on Thursday, June, 15, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church in Bronxville, NY. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
