Obituary for Cleonice "Claire" Marracino Landi (Marracino)

Claire Marracino Landi, 92, completed her earthly journey and has gone home to the Lord on Monday on January 2, 2017. She was born coming to America from Italy on the ship Conte Rosso on March 22, 1924 and was automatically made a U.S. citizen. Claire is survived by her loving children, Concetta (Bob) Mayes, Maria (Steve) Pesick, and Peter (Mary Jean) Landi; adored by her five grandchildren Christopher, Dana (Carl), Stephanie, Frank, Jr., Paula, and one great-grandchild, Alex. She is also survived by her beloved sister Natalie Giampapa, Peter Landi, the father of her children, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Nilda and Scipio Marracino, a brother, Nick Marracino and a sister Lucy Cilmi. Claire enjoyed being with her grandchildren and helping her family in the best way she could. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed music, and will be remembered as a selfless, kind women who cherished nothing more than being in the company of family and friends. She loved to crochet and made beautiful baby blankets, baby outfits and of course, her famous "dollies". Claire was a long time resident of Eastchester and devoted parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe, New York.
Special note: Thank you to the Schurnmacher Home for giving our mom the care she needed. The family will celebrate her life at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER on Thursday January 5th from 4-9pm. Mass on Friday 10:30am January 6th at Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
