While many funeral homes can offer you funeral planning services, they are typically lacking in resources to help you after the service has ended. Westchester Funeral Home is different because we make aftercare a priority in addition to our funeral planner services.
Much like the many questions people have about planning a funeral, more questions arise afterward when other things like account closures, legal paperwork, and sale of assets procedures start to begin. This can be a confusing and overwhelming time, in some cases more so than planning the funeral service was. Westchester Funeral Home is proud to offer continued support to families in our community through our aftercare support services.
A Dignified Life
As a part of the way we assist families with aftercare services is through our partnership with A Dignified Life. This service helps people that are transitioning after the loss of a loved one with aftercare management.
This process begins with an initial assessment where paperwork such as Social Security, veteran’s benefits, banking documents, insurance policies, and more are reviewed. This leads to specific goals, objectives, and actions being set in order to meet the needs identified through the assessment.
Once the assessment is complete, families are referred to service professionals we have researched and vetted. These professionals offer assistance relating to health, medical, financial, legal, and psychological status.
From then on, families receive assistance to manage paperwork flow, and other necessary tasks on an ongoing basis. Assistance with sales of assets like cars, jewelry, and art as well as finding bereavement and support services is also available. The aftercare management service helps those transitioning by creating goals and tasks that are action-oriented, time-specific, and cost-effective.
Part of what makes this program unique is that we work directly with your family. Unlike other companies that provide you with a list of tasks to complete, we oversee the process and act as an intermediary. Our team will help eliminate confusion during the initial assessment ensuring that you and your family fully understand each part of the detailed plan we put together including your goals, objectives, the timeline, and how we will bring about solutions to each of them.
